Do you only believe in what science can prove?

Sutaato asked:

People often say there is no scientific proof God existed but now they are finding all sorts of things from events mentioned in the Bible. Muslim areas have been very protective of launching archeologists into areas where they believe they could find artificats from Biblical times. Also they’ve found chariot wheels along with horse and human bones from Eyptian soldiers at the bottom of the Red Sea. They found Hebrew inscriptions of the 10 Commandments dated 2500-3000 years ago on a mountain is Los Lunas, Mexico which is several thousand years before anyone discovered America. Even Cherokees show similar signs of Jewish culture in theirs and it’s entirely possible that they could have been influenced by Jews arriving in Mexico. There’s proof out there. So why do all these scientists think God doesn’t exist?
I can’t sit here and type 50 million pages. I have a 1000 character word length. Point is that evidence of Biblical events are in the world.
I said the Cherokees culture have Jewish influences.

Dude just because you found a piece of a boat that was mentioned in the Bible doesn’t mean that God actually exists. The actually entity of God does not correspond to a boat, I am sorry. We all came with our customs along time ago and if there is so much cultures around there is going to be a culture that will look like the Jewish culture. I mean if won’t be exactly alike but it will be similar to that culture.

Not everything is an empirical question. For everything that is, science is the authority. The existence of *any* entity is an empirical question.

Archeology has shown that 1) slaves did not build the pyramids, 2) Nazareth did not exist as an inhabited settlement in the first century CE, and 3) That Palestinian artifacts are the deepest layer in and around what is now called Israel. Why do the religious ignore these facts?

I think they find it but never tell about it,,,that way people will not know about the truth,

They say that’s intelligence when in fact all it actually is, is a profound desire to remain gullible. I learned at a very young age not to trust people because they have a nasty habit of lying. Well they would have to be morons to trust everything they hear from just a human without any supernatural direction. That really sounds more like stupidity than intelligence to me.As it states in the Bible:
Psalms:14:1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

How does ANY of that prove god?
So what you’re saying is that “Gone With The Wind” is a true story because the American Civil War actually happened?

Why wouldn’t they find chariot parts in the Red Sea? Egyptians sailed it all the time. there’s no reason stuff like that wouldn’t be down there.

The commandments in Mexico is a proven hoax.

The Cherokees claim no Jewish ancestry or influence.
Not only is everything you mentioned NOT proof, it’s not even credible evidence.

I believe that God’s word, the bible, is truth. I havn’t found that proven science directly goes against what the bible says. Also, as you metioned, their have been many instances where the bible has been thought to be wrong but has been proven right. No, this doesn’t mean that there is a God but it does give the bible a lot of credibility. There are a lot of scientists who do believe in God. I know four scientists from my church who are all very strong believers and use science to better understand God, not to prove him wrong. Most Christians would agree that science is a vital part of our society as it helps us to better understand God’s creation and use it for our purposes, eg medicine. It was the church, after all, that were the first ones to study science. People seem to believe that they have to choose religion or science. I believe both, although of course I would accept God’s word over a persons word. We are still learning and there is a lot we still don’t know, which all scientists can agree on. Any day there could be a break through that proves something we accept as wrong. It has happened time and time again in the past and there is no reason to believe that it will stop happening. God is consistant. That is why so many people find comfort in a relationship with him.
